God Has Not Forgotten
Good Morning,A few weeks ago, I became a grandpa for the 3rdtime. My son and his wife had their first child, a little girl (I will spare you the pictures). She is beautiful. The first photo of her was such a picture of peace. As I looked at her face my heart was filled with joy and awe at the miraculous handiwork of our Creator. I could not help but think about the grand life God that He has been preparing for her since before creation (Eph. 2:10). She is coming into a world full of opportunities and possibilities. There will be challenges for certain, but the challenges will not change God’s grand plan. The same is true of you as well. You too were once that tiny little baby beginning a new life full of promise. Yet life leaves our faces with a few blemishes, worry lines and sometimes looking a bit more tired. We can be prone to lament the path our life has taken and begin to doubt that we are still of great value. In Jeremiah 29:11 we read these familiar words: For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. The context of this passage finds God speaking to His people who have sinned and messed up. They have spent time in exile and could easily be thinking that they have blown it beyond recovery. In the middle of this God reminds them that He has not forgotten His purpose for them. As a friend of mine puts it, God was telling the Jews “There is nothing you can do to make me forget why I made you!”God says the same thing to you this morning. Your worth has not been diminished one bit. You are still of great worth to God and have a life to live that is full of promise and value. Your story matters. No number of setbacks, failures or disappointments can change that. There are discoveries still to make and new trails to be blazed.Since God remembers that, maybe you should remember that this morning. Make today the day you begin to move forward. Take a step that leads you to a new beginning. Take hold of God’s hand as He leads you toward a hope that never fails or disappoints.God has not forgotten His plan for you – and that will never change.Live this week on purpose,Ron Klopfenstein
